What people do with a blow up palm tree and Cuban cigar…

Our Cuban Dance Party on Friday was very hot. The band just wouldn’t stop and the crowd kept up on the dance floor. For photos from our photo booth visit Facebook and while you’re there become our fan if you’re not already. Thanks!

Turning 10 is a big deal
A blog from our awesome Membership Manager Rebecca:

Entering the double digits means you are officially an Adult—or at least it did to me when I turned 10. In fact I have never felt as old or as mature as I did that year, and I celebrated in style, with a “fancy” birthday party. I sent my 10 closest friends invitations on scrolls—paper rolled up in recycled paper towel tubes and sent through the mail—and donned my favorite outfit, a turquoise dress that was several sizes too big for me, my Dorothy-inspired ruby red Read the rest of this entry »

First in the Berkshires

We are delighted to host the first BeCreative Bar Camp with the good folks at Berkshire Creative on Friday, May 1 starting at 5:30 PM.
While there will be a cash bar available, the event is focused on creativity not drinking or gymnastics.
The name “BarCamp” is a playful allusion to the event’s origins, with reference to the hacker slang term, foobar which is a common placeholder name for something with an unknown value: BarCamp arose as a spin-off of Foo Camp, an annual invitation-only participant driven conference hosted by open source publishing luminary Tim O’Reilly.
Stay after Bar Camp for the Cuban Dance party in the Hunter Center. Tickets just $13.50 for Bar Camp participants.

Chanel your inner Michael Jackson

Our neighbors at Cafe Latino offer fall fun in the form of KARAOKE on Thursday, October 16 starting at 9:30. They’ve got TNT Productions providing the karaoke machine and they have literally thousands of songs to choose from so you can showcase your musical stylings on everything from the Everly Brothers to the Jonas Brothers. Stop by to perform or just to listen.

Summer Send Off
I feel like it was just a few days ago that I was writing about welcoming summer, but already we are facing the beginnings of Fall. To send off Summer in style we have a multitude of events happening in the next few days that will hopefully help take your mind off cooling temperatures and turning leaves. Both the Flutterbox concert on Friday and the Retro Soul Dance Party on Sunday are going to be great events but I wanted to focus a little of my blogging attention on the last Moonlit Movie of the summer.

Due to the Dance Party happening in the courtyard on Sunday, Bagdad Cafe will be screened inside Club B-10 but don’t let that get you down. Here are my top five reasons why I’m excited to see Bagdad Cafe on Thursday.
1. Specialty cocktail! Since coffee plays such a large role in the film, we are featuring a rum, coffee and Kahlua cocktail at the MASS MoCA bar for purchase during the screening. Yum.
2. Truck Stops. I recently watched a TV show about the most extreme truck stops on the planet. The Cafe/truck stop featured in the film may not offer marble showers or a Ferris Wheel in the parking lot, but it does have a water tower that was built just for the shooting of the movie.
3. Visit Bagdad Cafe. The film was shot at what was originally the Sidewinder Cafe in Newberry Springs, California. Since then, the cafe has become something of a tourist destination, and has changed its name to Bagdad Cafe.
4. Snacks. As always Lickety Split will be providing plenty of snacks including popcorn and Herrells ice cream before and during the film.
5. Bingo. To enhance your movie watching we have developed a bingo card specifically for the movie that will get everyone at your table involved. No prize will be awarded for bingo winners, but at least you get bragging rights if you win.
Cheers,
Brittany
