‘Tis the season!

Top Ten Reasons To Shop

HARDWARE @ MASS MoCA and MASS MoCA by Design

This Holiday Season

10.  We have the second best selection of art books in Berkshire county!  We have the very best selection of art-and-performing-arts-books!  (Regards to our friends at The Clark.)

9.  Fingerless Gloves.  Fashionable, fun, and efficient, we have a huge selection of fingerless gloves and mitts to keep you warm while texting.

8. If you’re in the market for homegrown, one-of-a-kind fashion, this dress was handcrafted by Hardware’s very own rockstar, Phyllis Criddle.  Taking repurposed materials to new heights, this original design was created from hundreds of wristbands leftover from Wilco’s Solid Sound festival at MASS MoCA.  It’s the Whole Love.

7.  Mywallit makes colorful, contemporary accessories that look like they fell out of a Sol LeWitt wall drawing.  Available at HARDWARE The MASS MoCA Store.

6.  Tokyo Milk perfumes and soaps are nothing short of exquisite.  From their delicately detailed packaging to their supple scents, this lovely line started an absolute olfactory craze when we opened our doors with it two years ago.  With scents like Dead Sexy, French Kiss, Lotus Sake, Bittersweet, Age of Aquarius, Lotus Sake, and Sugar Sugar, we’ve got something for all the ladies on  your list.  Available at MASS MoCA by Design in Williamstown.

5.  It’ll be tough to choose!  Each of our two museum stores boasts a dense selection of the it-accessory of the moment.  Find something for warm and wooly,  or fun and fashionable, either at a range of comfortable prices.  Ask our retail staff for help making your selection.

4.  Dan Bellow is a Great Barrington, Mass. based potter whose work is in high demand.   We are blessed to have some of his elegant pieces adorn our shelves at MASS MoCA by Design, where we feature many local producers.

3.  Beat Santa to the punch!  Both HARDWARE and MMxD are filled to the brim with what is surely the best selection of stocking stuffers in any museum, anywhere.

2.  Grass Logic lets you build your own upside-down trees.  Dai Ban, another Gt. Barrington, Mass. based artist, lovingly created a DIY kit that lets the owner recreate “Tree Logic”, MASS MoCA’s famous “upside down trees” exhibition.   The perfect present for any MM enthusiast!

1.  The number one reason to do your holiday shopping at MASS MoCA, is of course that it helps you support your favorite museum and give great gifts at the same time!  We know you’re committed to shop small and to shop local this season.  We hope you are similarly devoted to shop cultural.  Let your purchases support MASS MoCA and all our friends in the arts this season!

Happy! Merry!
