For Swingers

Swings have been a part of art for centuries and we’re happy to join the parade with our very own swings,¬† opened over the weekend as part of Jane Philbrick’s Expanded Field installation. Attached to the overpass, they are a delightful way to spend some time no matter what your age or attire.¬† Look for them at the end of The Speed Way. The Box Office can point you in the right direction.

Between the bikes and the swings maybe we should become MASS MoR  (Museum of Recreation).

Attended the opening & loved seeing Jane’s vision come to life! Wow, what a fabulous and fitting addition to the museum’s outdoor space. The swings bring a sense of whimsy which is only too fitting for the museum, and the thyme & wildflower gardens bring us back to earth after the raw and industrial-ness of the old factory and the adjacent Sprague boiler room. I hope to come back and see the wildflowers full in bloom!
