As most of you know…the beloved installation, Material World, has reached the end of its journey at MASS MoCA =[
HOWEVER! We are very excited to welcome two new installations! Sub Mirage Lignum, by Nari Ward will be a collection of FIVE monumental pieces that use materials such as broken furniture, mango seeds, and even old capacitors from Sprague Electric! The other exhibition that will be taking over the space of Material World is called Memery: Imitation, Memory, and Internet Culture. It will feature works by nine different artists and is sure to make you question the internet’s role in society.
In the meantime…use these Flickr Finds of Material World as a coping mechanism as it parts ways with MASS MoCA. Thanks to all of the artists who made this possible!
Lightning Generation by Michael Beutler
