I attended yesterday. It was wonderful. I spent almost three hours seeing some familiar walls and some that I had never seen. Great collaboration. I did a short post on the exhibit last month.

It was perfect seeing composer Steve Reich at the LeWitt opening. There in the flesh was the proof of the exchange between visual arts and music; Reich’s pioneering compositions could well have been the musical equivalent of LeWitt’s visual “minimalism.”

We drove from Boston for the opening and we were not disappointed. This is thrilling! A testament to the human spirit and a moment of hope in our history. Nice guys can also be great artists for all time.

I thought I knew all about Sol Lewitt until I saw this show because there were so many works that I was unfamiliar with. This show gave me a true appreciation of the depth and range of his work. It was a pleasant surprise to find there was much more to Lewitt than I imagined! We truly enjoyed the experience!!! It’s a must see … you can’t appreciate this work from the pages of a book. Go, go, go … it’s well worth the trip!

His work sure seems quite interesting. Unfortunately I have not had the pleaseure of seeing the work for real, but only in photos. Being a contemporary artist myself I do however understand the complexeties of his art.
