Sarah Biagini and Aimee Buyea from our performing arts department have launched A is for AMAZING, a film and experimental video series which will provide Berkshire audiences with access to films that they would not otherwise have the opportunity to see. Their first program XXX-Mas Movies: eXploring seXuality through eXperimental film will be at Images Cinema in Williamstown at 9 PM on Sunday, December 2, 2007.

I love live music. Even the most terrible, horrible, no good, very bad day can look bright if live music is somewhere in my near future. I grew up with basement shows and tiny venues filled with emo and punk where I honed and cultivated this love, but by no means did that make me a music snob. Any kind of live music — whether it be a folk group , experimental electronica or a full orchestra — anything and everything gets my blood racing and my foot tapping. Hi my name is Brittany and I am addicted to live music.

 What started all of this ranting about my unquenchchable love of music in the live form, was my sudden realization that the Yo La Tengo concert we have coming up is only days away. That means that you only have three days to buy your tickets to the show, three days to anticipate the wonder of Yo La Tengo playing live in the Berkshires, and only three days to let it sink in that not only are you going to see Yo La Tengo play a live concert at MASS MoCA but you will be seeing them play Unplugged!

I also want to make all of you aware that we only have a limited number of tickets still  avalible for the show at this point. If you are looking forward to this show, please buy now and don’t be dissapointed, we don’t want to have to deny anyone the YLT experience.

We were delighted to see this critic’s pick for Spencer Finch. We’re proud we knew Colby Chamberlain way back when he was just starting out and served as a MASS MoCA intern.

Chronogram has a great interview by Michael Oatman with Spencer Finch. Michael’s working on a new piece for MASS MoCA that will open next summer involving our solar panels — there’s a teaser in the lobby right now so you can see both artists’ work in one visit.
